Client: CIDA in collaboration with the Shanghai Garden Administration Bureau
The overall objectives of Northwest Park were to provide urban greening, improve the environment, introduce fresh air, block prevailing northwest winds for Shanghai, and to create leisure and educational facilities. The layout of the park was divided into three major sectors: the Garden, the Landscape and the Forest. Each sector was designed according to spatial concerns, buildings, facilities and functions. The overall design of the park presents a natural ambiance and character.
